Creative Director / Lead Stylist
Kristina is the Creative Director and Lead Stylist of Live By The Sword Salon in Williamsburg. She has been doing hair professionally since 2009 and has been serving the Williamsburg community since 2012, becoming a go-to colorist and stylist in the neighborhood.
Her roots trace back to the New Jersey rock scene, where she first started experimenting with her own hair and coloring for friends in local bands. Transforming people into their rockstar alter ego quickly became her specialty, and making the move to NYC felt like a natural next step.
Kristina specializes in bold creative color, custom transformations, and hair extensions. Known for blending artistry with technical expertise, she thrives on taking risks and creating looks as unique as the clients who wear them. Her approachable personality, dedication to education, and commitment to client care have earned her both a loyal following and a talented, fashion-forward team that continues to raise the bar in Brooklyn’s salon scene.

Salon Manager
Justin has been working in Williamsburg salons since 2002, bringing over two decades of experience to the craft. After serving in the military and working in medicine, he found his way into the beauty industry—an unexpected path that quickly became his passion.
Since opening in 2019, Justin has played a key role in shaping Live By The Sword Salon into the vibrant, welcoming space it is today. As Salon Manager, he now focuses on leading the team, supporting daily operations, and ensuring every client experience meets the high standards the salon is known for.
With his extensive background behind the chair, Justin brings a strong eye for detail, a commitment to excellence, and a genuine dedication to both the team and our clients. His focus is on fostering a positive, professional environment where both stylists and guests can feel confident, supported, and taken care of.
Justin is not currently accepting clients.
Amanda
Hair Stylist / Tooth Gem Technician
Growing up in New York City gave Amanda a one-of-a-kind, enriching experience that shaped her creativity. She doesn’t like to put herself in a box—the possibilities are infinite. Joining the beauty industry, and Live By The Sword Salon specifically, has completely elevated her life, sparking a passion to create and never settle for complacency.
Amanda has been a part of the Live By The Sword Salon team since 2021, where she specializes in razor cuts, pixies, curly and textured hair, hair health, and image consulting. She is also one of our talented Tooth Gem Technicians. For her, being a stylist is about more than just vanity—it’s about helping individuality shine through by the end of every appointment.
Katie
Hair Stylist
Meet Katie, a stylist of 14+ years. Originally from Connecticut, Katie found inspiration in the punk and emo scenes she grew up with, and that influence still shines through in her work today.
Since joining Live By The Sword Salon in 2021, she has continued to cultivate a space for creative cuts, bold colors, and clients who want something a little different. With a special love for vivid shades and alternative styles, Katie thrives on giving clients the hair of their dreams no matter their starting canvas.
Always bridging the gap between hairstyling and artistry, she stays committed to expanding her education and bringing the latest techniques to her clients, ensuring every look is both current and uniquely their own. Katie specializes in alternative cuts, vivid colors, and creative styling.

Alexandria
Esthetician / Cosmetic Tattoo Artist / Tooth Gem Technician
Originally from Jersey City NJ, Alexandria has always been drawn to the energy and individuality of NYC. She’s spent her years growing up and working in the city, inspired by its nonstop flow of creativity and characters. As an artist, she naturally found her way into the world of beauty and aesthetics where creativity and care comes together.
She graduated from Christine Valmy and has been an esthetician for five years, specializing in facials, lash lifts, and brow laminations.
What she loves most about her role is the one-on-one experience with each of her clients - taking the time to connect, listen, and create a space where people feel relaxed, seen, and confident in their skin.
Alexandria is also one of our Tooth Gem Technicians and loves to design playful curations.

Junior Stylist & Salon Assistant
Rubi is a Bushwick native with a lifelong passion for beauty and artistry. She first discovered her love for makeup as a teenager, later refining her skills while working in makeup and retail environments where she developed a strong foundation in client care and technique.
After the pandemic, Rubi expanded her expertise into lash extension services, which ultimately led her to pursue cosmetology school for hairdressing. She graduated in 2022 and has been growing her craft ever since.
Since joining Live By The Sword Salon in 2025, Rubi has continued to evolve as an artist—diving into vivid color work and creative hair artistry while mastering new techniques. She has a true passion for coloring services, with a particular love for blonding and creating dimensional, customized looks for each client.

A Jersey native by way of Miami, now based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Nico brings a refined, intentional approach to modern hair color. Known for rich dimension, luminous blondes, and fully customized tones, my work is designed to evolve beautifully over time — never rushed, never over processed, always guided by hair integrity.

Since she was a young girl growing up in Pueblo, Colorado, Nicole has had an interest in the hair industry. Professionally, Nicole began coloring hair 15 years ago and made the move to New York City 8 years ago, where she began working at downtown salons. Nicole loves being a color artist who pushes the boundaries of her talent to give her clients not only beautiful hair, but a unique and uplifting experience. She works closely with clients to create a mutual vision of what the final look will be.
Nicole believes beautiful hair is not always achieved in one sitting, especially when creating major transformations or corrective work. Through patience, trust, and communication, she helps clients achieve looks they may not have imagined possible for themselves. She connects with clients through her warm and welcoming Colorado vibe mixed with a New York flavor. This combination allows her to create everything from beautiful classic looks to something unique and bold.
Nicole is never complacent and is always continuing to grow as an artist. She believes when an artist becomes complacent, so do their clients. Above all, Nicole sees herself as her clients’ biggest cheerleader and is passionate about creating hair that speaks to who they are. Her goal is for everyone who sits in her chair to walk out feeling like the best version of themselves.

Sydney is a stylist from the Philly/South Jersey area who has been working in the hair industry for over four years. Her passion for beauty grew during the pandemic, when experimenting with makeup and hair turned into a full-on career path. She quickly fell in love with helping people feel confident and bringing bold, creative visions to life.
Now based in NYC, Sydney is excited to continue her journey in Brooklyn at Live By The Sword Salon. She specializes in vivids, full blonding, lived-in color, touchups, glosses, cuts, blowouts, updos, and smoothing treatments like keratin and Brazilian Blowouts.
For Sydney, every client is an opportunity to blend artistry with technique, creating looks that feel as unique as the person wearing them.

Hair Stylist
Amber has been in the hair industry since 2014, bringing over a decade of experience and a fearless approach to every client in her chair. Born and raised in Florida, she never quite felt like she fit in, which ultimately inspired her move to NYC in 2024 to find community and grow her career.
Growing up, Amber was deeply influenced by the Myspace scene-kid era, a bold and expressive subculture that continues to shape her artistry today. That influence shows up in her love for crafting edgy, alternative haircuts and vibrant, creative color.
Amber specializes in alternative haircuts, creative color, and color corrections. She thrives on helping clients embrace individuality, pushing boundaries with transformative styles, and building confidence through hair that feels authentic, fearless, and uniquely their own.
